Not that far apart

Another day is over as the darkness of night takes over the world called Earth. On this planet we close in toward to a small cozy house with a wooden sign saying ‘the house of Amy Rose’. Inside the house that’s been decorated with photos of a pink hedgehog owner of the house with her friends, some flowers, artwork that Amy has drawn.

Finding the female hedgehog inside her room changing clothes to go outside. Where did she want to go is unknown since she doesn’t has a destination or anything, she just wanted to drive around town not caring wherever she goes. She puts on a red dress that just goes under beneath her hips half way on toward her knees with purple stocking socks that reach on her knee. Then she takes out pink baskets and puts her foot into it. She toils the ribbons together so her shoes stays around her feet.

She looked at herself into the mirror and smiled being satisfied with her choice. Even though she often wears that outfit, she mostly needs to reconfirm herself that this is the way she wants to display herself toward the world. She goes out her room and goes to her hallway and gets downstairs.

Once on the first level of her house she takes her purse that contains both her house- and car keys. She closed her door and locked it down. Then she got to her grey colored Fiat five hundred XL and opens the door. She got in, closed the door and placed the key in the ignition. Turning the keys to the sideways made her battery warm up her engine. Five seconds later she turns her key even further that started up her engine, while she did that she noticed her fuel tank was close to empty but still enough to drive at least hundred kilometers . She doesn’t owns a fuel tank since there’s five kilometers further from her house a gas station that’s one of the cheapest around town. She enters the open road and goes toward her new destination which is the gas station.

Within three minutes she arrived at the gas station. And parks her car with her entrée spot of her tank to face the pump. She walks out and goes to the terminal to operated. She takes out her bank card and place it in the terminal it asked to select the needed fuel. She pushed on the diesel sign and the terminal asked first which pump she wanted to operate. Amy pushed on the number of her pump and then it asked for her pin-code. Once she entered her code the terminal did it’s last check to gain access to her card account. It took seven seconds when the terminal confirmed her card code correct and requested her to remove her card. Amy did and the terminal allowed her to use the pump. After opening her fuel tank she took the handle from the pump and placed it into the hole of her gas tank. She pulled up the handle and instantly gas poured into her tank. About ten minutes later the handle of stopped fueling meaning her tank is full. Amy placed back the injector into the station itself and looked at the price showing her it would cost her fifty rings. She locked her fuel tank before going back to the driver’s seat. Once inside her car she placed her carkey into ignition and turned it sideways to activate the motor of her car. Seeing her fuel arrow is pointed to F (full) she drives away from the station onto the highway.

Now driving on the highway Amy started to think about her times when all of this was different. A time when she watched her bleu hedgehog male friend with the name of Sonic the hedgehog going through loops, corkscrews, barrel rolls risking his neck for every one almost every day to keep the world safe from a scientist that wanted to make the world filled with robots and technology. Yes she always has faith in Sonic that he will succeed with stopping the scientist evil plan. While she knows Sonic mostly succeed without taking a sweat, there were a few occasion where she thought she would have lost him forever. It would be a pain in her heart losing him because he means much more to her than just a friend, to her he means the world. Nowadays she does her very best to keep her true feelings hidden from him since she understands the feelings aren’t mutual.

However just because she hides her feelings from him doesn’t means she’s not thinking about him. Heck actually it’s the opposite to her he’s always close to her. When she looks outside her window at the lefts she’s surprised to see the one she likes so much running next at her car. She couldn’t help to blush since she’d not expect him to be here at this moment, not that she mind it of course.

 If Sonic wanted he could easily outrun her yet it seems he had no intension of running away from her this time. Sonic liked using the highway since it’s most efficient for him to run toward his next destination just as everybody else. He could ran through small pads but it’s annoying since it’s hard to find a straight one. He mostly had to stop to take his turn and speed back up. It’s a little thingy to do for Sonic but still a straight road it better for him.

He’d kept running next to her car. Amy was so overwhelmed with him running next to her she’d forgot where she actually wanted to go. Oh yeah she’d forgot, she had no idea where she wanted to go in the first place. To be honest she just wanted to be with him alone, nobody of their friends bothering them, no villains trying to terrorize the world, just the two of them.

Amy saw she had to leave the highway because the next exit leads to the city. She would just hang out there a bit for the night alone. So she flicks on her indicator and got over to the right to leave the highway

Sonic faced her in the eye and gave her his thumb up sign. Amy smiled warmly back knowing that no matter where she would be, he’d always is there for her. It’s such a wonderful feeling to her. She already regrets leaving him.

She’d entered the city where she had difficulties to lose her car. Almost every parking slot was filled with another cars. Lady luck was standing at her side  at least ten minutes later when she finally saw someone leaving. When that car was away she parked car.

Walking into the city at night has its charms. The only thing that bothered her was seeing others with someone. Most of the girls hanged out with their boyfriends or in some cases husbands. “Husband”… thinking about that word makes her sad knowing that’s the thing she wants to archive with Sonic. She imaged herself a lot of times with here with him hand in hand walking around showing that they would love each other. While the idea sounds fantastic, in reality it’s not going to happen soon. Maybe it’s because of the night but sometimes she feels it she should give up on that. She had tried many attempts to make Sonic her husband, yet he always refused. When she was younger she would be angry at him but now she sees she was doing it the wrong way. The thing she wants with him can’t be forced or it will result in her losing him completely and that would crush her world completely. She conformed herself with the thought that that doom scenario luckily never happened.

After about two hours later Amy became tired and wanted to go back home. She went back to her car and drives back to her house. A whole while later she’d arrived at her house and to her surprise she saw Sonic was waiting for her outside her house leaning against the wall next to her front door with his hands crossed and still his signature smile on his face. She’d park her car at the street as fast as she can.

The feelings got the better of her and she’d ran toward him. She couldn’t face it no more hiding her true feeling from him. All she wants now is to be with him and him standing here at her house is defiantly the last thing she’d expected.

Sonic opened his eyes and brighten his smile even more. When he saw her running toward him he opened his arms to let her run into him. She’d gave him a hug as if she’d hasn’t seen him in ages even though it was just a bit more than two hours ago.

Snuggling into his furless chest she’d felt the warm he’d used to give her whenever he carried her in his arms. Sonic holds her close to him letting her enjoy the feeling that he’s with her. The hug contained so much warm Amy didn’t wanted to let go ever. To her time could freeze at that very moment. But their hug ended five minutes later since Sonic wanted to give her a special rose from the highest mountain in the area. Amy smiled while smelling at the rose.

Amy invited Sonic to stay for a while and he agreed. Oh how she could squeal out in joy at this moment. She’d quickly unlocked her front door and opened it.

Before Amy could turn around Sonic picked her up in his arms bridal style and she instantly puts her arms around his neck for support. He walked with her inside Amy’s house and closed her door. And with this Amy knew that he’s always with her no matter what.
